Disease models

The ideal platform for the study of skin disease

Ex vivo models of skin disease are invaluable for advancing our understanding and treatment of dermatological conditions. Using healthy human skin tissue, defined inflammatory profiles can be induced in our TenSkin™ model using combinations of cytokines and antibodies, allowing researchers to study the complex interactions between skin cells, pathogens, and treatments. The TenSkin™ model is an ideal platform for these studies due to the extended viability and retention of normal tissue function due to the restoration of physiological tension.

These models provide a closer approximation to in vivo conditions compared to traditional cell cultures, enabling more accurate assessments of disease mechanisms, drug efficacy, and potential side effects. Additionally, our models reduce the reliance on animal testing and offer a more ethical and efficient approach to developing new therapies and personalized medicine strategies.
